Workforce Engage targets immediate improvement and lays a foundation for long-term results



Step 1) The Strategic Opportunity: Return on Mission & Margin
  • WE works with your senior leadership to identify priority outcomes, measures, and targets, which are set forth in a Strategic Profile.
  • A Readiness Checklist is drawn up to ensure preparedness of technology and internal communications, and to establish a time line and other specifics. A game plan to maximize ROI on the overall initiative is developed.
Step 2) The Leadership Compact: Foundation for Action
  • A Leadership Compact is drafted, stating management's commitment to involve employees in interpretation of survey results and to respond to the issues raised by the survey. The Compact serves as a bond between leadership and employees.
  • WE helps organize a Cross-departmental Implementation Team to ensure successful implementation of the WE system. This team and QDM tailor the WE process to the organization.
  • Employee buy-in for the initiative is developed, as are capacities needed to administer the Scorecard, conduct dialogues, and ensure a high participation rate. Throughout the process, WE builds engagement, workplace trust, and other "social capital" assets.
  • A secure client-tailored website with tools and resources is developed and hosted.
Step 3) Engage Scorecard: Listening & Learning
  • Employees throughout the organization log on to a client-tailored web site and respond to dynamically generated questions in the Engage Scorecard, WE's web-based employee engagement survey. The Scorecard provides immediate feedback to users. QDM offers other tools for employees who cannot access or effectively use the web-based tool.
  • Scoring is based on a five-point scale, with 1 the lowest score and 5 the highest. Multi-tiered and Open-ended questions are also used. Customized client-tailored questions can be added.
  • The evidence-based and statistically validated Engage Scorecard measures performance on the Seven Practices of an Engaged Workforce, on each individual survey question, and on overall employee engagement.
Step 4) Synthesis and Direction: Setting the Course for Change
  • WE presents Scorecard findings to the Leadership group in the context of strategic organizational goals.
  • WE benchmarks your data against internal and external standards.
  • The WE™ system provides for a unique and highly effective approach to disseminating and addressing survey results. WE facilitates (and coaches an internal team to lead) organization-wide learning events at which Scorecard findings are shared with employees. The learning events include large-scale town-hall type forums and small-scale dialogues within departments. These conversations involve the employees in the interpretation of Scorecard results, the identification of key challenges ("performance tipping points"), and the search for innovative solutions. Leadership, managers, and employees are thus engaged in the improvement process together, encouraging shared ownership of results. WE provides skills and tools to identify the tipping points as well as methods for creating action plans.
  • An action plan is developed; time lines and accountable parties are specified.
Step 5) Implement Solutions: Improve Performance
  • Based on the tipping points identified in Step 4, WE works with senior leaders and selected key stakeholders to design, develop, and implement targeted initiatives, strategies, policy changes, and capacity building investments - tied to specific bottom-line objectives and/or your organization's strategic goals.
  • WE may provide leadership coaching, workshops, development of peer-coaching networks, and other forms of support
Step 6) Impact to Action Cycle: Sustaining Positive Change
  • Performance improvement is tracked and measured against goals. The results are used as a guide to future improvement efforts. Learning is reinforced and institutionalized in this "quality" cycle.
